I’d buy another one
I rode the wheels off this thing, and it never complained. I can't recall this bike giving me any issues, and certainly none of the issues the Royal Enfields were giving other owners. If I ever have some disposable income and a nice 2020 GT comes along, I’d buy it.
It's still not a fast bike, but it was surprisingly good in the corners (with good tyres), and I found the standard brakes were okay with organic brake pads. The suspension was fine… it could have been a bit stiffer, but otherwise, it was adequate. The headers and mufflers I eventually installed gave the bike a nice note and maybe 0.25 extra horsepower. I do know this bike had character, and people loved to take a closer look at it.
Very simple to work on, even one-handed maintenance was a snap. Modifications for my needs were incredibly easy, plenty of room for the clutch lever and room inside the headlight shell for wiring. I ran the original quick-release, with the v2.0 arm, when I first got the bike. If I had to modify another one of these, I’d follow the same guidelines as the Z900 as the clutch switch modification was an issue.
